Bach, “Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden” (Psalm 117)

Psalm 117 was a source of inspiration to great classical composers of all times. J.S. Bach (1685–1750) wrote “Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden” (BWV 230).

Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden;
preiset ihn, alle Völker!
Denn seine Gnade und Wahrheit
waltet über uns in Ewigkeit.
Halleluja!

English translation

Praise the Lord, all nations,
praise him, all peoples,
for his mercy and truth
reign over us for ever.
Halleluja!
